How to give volume to short and fine hair in women

The short hair is a real concern for those who love the volume and knowing that thick hair or much volume is trend so today we will explain below, easily, how to give volume to the short and fine hair in women.

How to add volume to short, fine hair in the shower?

Wash your hair with a volumizing shampoo

Some shampoo formulas can flatten hair, so choose one specially designed to increase volume.

If your hair is very short or tends to be oily, skip the conditioner outright.

Use the conditioner first and then the shampoo if you need extra volume

If your hair is dry and you need to condition more than the ends, try applying the conditioner first. Then use a little shampoo just on the roots to give them more volume.

Make sure the shampoo only touches the roots so you don't have to condition it again.

Apply a dry spray shampoo to obtain the volume of the second day of washing

If your hair looks lifeless and greasy a day after you wash it, use a dry shampoo at the roots to absorb the oil and give it more volume. Spray dry shampoo on the first 1 to 2 inches (3 to 5 cm) of hair, especially around the hairline and on the crown of your head.

Massage the dry shampoo into the roots with your fingers and leave it on for a few minutes, then comb to the ends of the hair. This will help soak up the oil throughout the length of your hair, especially at the roots, where it accumulates the most.

How to  dry short and fine hair to give volume in women?

1.       Apply a volumizing product to the roots

Whether you're using a mousse, foam, or gel, you should apply it to your roots as soon as you get out of the shower, as volumizing products work best on wet hair. This way you will have the most control while you dry your hair.

2.       Brush 1 to 2-inch (3-5 cm) sections with a round brush while blow-drying your hair

With a round brush you will have more control over each section of the hair, because it supports it from all sides. Keep the brush under the hair and push it up to lift the roots as you blow dry them to give them the most volume. You should also use the blow dryer attachment so that you can concentrate the air on the brush.

After drying the roots, slowly brush and blow dry each section of hair to dry.

If you have short hair, use a smaller round brush. Keep the brush at the roots instead of running it through your hair to avoid creating too many curls.

Pull your head down to the ground and blow dry your hair without the brush until 70% dry, then stand up straight to finish styling.

If you have long hair, you can experiment with various round brushes and styling techniques.

3.       Get more volume by brushing dry hair in the opposite direction to your usual division

If you normally part your hair so that it falls to the left, brush it to the right, or vice versa. Use a high heat setting on the roots for about 10 seconds, then use the cool air attachment to set the style.

•             When your hair cools, brush it back in the direction where you normally part it.

4.- Make a bun to dry your hair naturally if you don't have time to use the dryer.

If you're in a hurry, tie yourself as high as you can. As it dries, the roots will hold their shape and when you untie it, you will have more volume.

•             This method is great for drying your hair naturally if you like to shower before bed.

How to style short and fine hair in women to give volume?

1.- Put rollers on top of your hair to get more volume

If your hair is long enough to use rollers, it will be great for adding volume to the roots. Depending on the size of the curlers, divide the center part of the hair (where a mohawk would go) into 3-4 sections. Put a roller in each section while you finish dressing or putting on makeup.

If you're using hot rollers, leave them on until cool.

If you use foam rollers or other without heat, blow the dryer well through the roots of the hair and then leave the rollers on until the hair cools.

Gently remove the rollers when your hair is cool and comb it with your fingers.

2.- Carve your hair to give it more height

Carding is the process of combing your hair back to give it more volume. You can card it with a fine-toothed comb or even a toothbrush. Keep a section of your hair lifted, and then comb downward starting about 2 inches (5.1 cm) from the scalp. When you have the desired volume, gently place the top layer of hair over the carded section to hide it.

3.- Curl your hair with a medium or large curling iron to make loose waves

Large curling irons create smooth waves perfect for adding volume to hair. You can finger comb the waves or brush them with a soft brush for a glamorous, old-fashioned Hollywood look.

4.- Put on clip extensions to get more volume

The hair extensions do not serve only to have longer hair. Extensions of the same length of hair serve to increase the volume exponentially . Tuck your hair up a bit to hide the clips, then put the extensions a few centimeters (a couple of inches) from the roots.

•             Make sure your hair is thick enough to cover the extensions. The clip extensions are usually placed fairly close to the roots, so they will not be so visible, although your hair is fine. If you wear them a few centimeters (a couple of inches) from the roots, then your fine hair may not completely hide them.

5.- Make a deep part so that the upper part of the head looks fuller

Parting you deeply to the side will bring more hair to the top of your head. This will create the illusion of having more volume.

•             Comb to the side if your hair is too short for a traditional part.

6.- Make a zigzag parting to have more volume on the sides

Put the comb on the part of your hairline where your part normally begins. Comb back at an angle about 2 inches (5.1 cm), then change the direction of the part abruptly to form the zigzag. This style will give you a lot of volume on both sides of the part.
